Education Projects

We've completed a large number of installations in school systems throughout Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. Here we've highlighted some of our key project successes.

New Gwinnett County Public High School, Georgia

Our Education Solutions team was recently elected to provide solutions for Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) new high school scheduled to open fall of 2015 in the metro Atlanta area. The school, currently known as Berkmar/Central Cluster High School, is designed for 2,000 FTE with future expansion of 3,000 students and will be located in a renovated warehouse building. GCPS commissioned SWC- Richardson Technology System’s Education Solution team for installation of Rauland’s Telecenter VI serving the school’s communication needs. Telecenter VI is the first digital VoIP (voice over internet protocol) based communications system designed for all the unique needs of the K-12 environment. Employing flexible networking technology, Telecenter VI combines powerful business telephone features with the efficient internal communication options needed by schools. Our technicians will complete installation for all associated sound systems within the 420,000 sq ft school building including a 12,000 sq ft media center, 500 seat auditorium, auxiliary and main gymnasiums.  Additionally, SWC-RTSI will install a sound system and loudspeakers throughout the new 6,000 seat football stadium. Most impressive will be the central “main street” corridor to serve as the circulation spine of the building, allowing natural lighting through large glass openings at each end, and equipped with high quality loudspeakers installed by our Education Solutions team. Henderson County Schools, Kentucky

Access Control systems provided and installed by the SWC Education Team are gaining positive reviews in Henderson County, Kentucky. Over the summer of 2013, South Western Communications installed Aiphone systems throughout Henderson County schools, including audio/video secure entry systems. These cost-effective solutions have increased school security allowing for peace of mind among educators, students and parents within Henderson County.  Systems provided include the Aiphone JF Series hands-free color video enhanced system which supports door stations and inside monitor stations. The system includes built in picture memory and can be set to record automatically when a visitor calls. The increased security measures act as a first line of defense against intruders and unwelcomed guests. School secretaries are able to see visitors with an Aiphone door camera, communicate through an intercom station, and then elect to unlock doors using their master station or keep doors locked and notify officials of potential security concerns.
